Multi Cam Editing

 Day 2

Multi Cam edit

Table Tennis

Today I organised my workspace, imported all assets to premier and created a mini mind map of how

I would want the edit to go. just a rough idea i found the footage had a few things missing and honestly looked a bit bare haha i guess that's the thing about live recordings. I looked into other means of making the overall finished video look amazing things such as titles, effects eg headers slide into frame.... I could use in the video.

Few things I found from this shoot, the camera angles where a bit tight, probably cause it was raining
but something of note this did give off a feel as though a POV in some shots and definitely felt like we in the game.

we did struggle a bit with the pacing, such as how much the wally dolly would move and how much we would have in shot but overall a lot to work with. Jack did an excellent job in the end capturing B-roll at with the shoulder mount, which i look forward to editing.

i had a quick look for some references on multi cam editing and came across this video by someone i follow (Justin Odisho) and id hope to emulate some things from this segment, he had similar style angles to us and before you say i understand this isn't a sports/live event haha but just some concepts that stood out where...
  • Pacing and cutting
  • shot choice selection to make it more engaging( after all they are just sitting down)
  •  thought process as to what the viewers are looking at( is it info/ or facial feature's)

lastly i had a good read of some colour management for screens.
a good read for know how, a few things to consider as the weather did affect our lighting in our shoot as we didn't bring any lighting gear. Otherwise a great read
